This fascinating book of folk patterns currently for sale on eBay caught my eye. I can imagine having fun trying some of them out on some mittens, for instance. Fortunately I did a Google before leaping in with a bid. It's in print (Charted Peasant Designs from Saxon Transylvania) and costs £6.95 or $6.95 (Dover publications). I fear the winning bidder is going to pay a bit more than that.
Comments
Thank you for your comments on comments! I think we're all agreed that they are an important part of blogging, for the blogger and for the reader. There doesn't seem much point in leaving comments on some of the major blogs (do they have blog assistants to handle comments for them?) and, like Jill, I don't even read the comments left there (often sickeningly fawning, I find). It seems as if most of us appreciate a personal reply by email but understand if this isn't possible every time.
Juliet's comments about following threads and leads from comments struck a chord with me. I recommend you follow Inge's link to the Swedish knitting journey. I'm not sure what it's all about, but there are some good photos and some patterns. I think it is probably an online symposium rather like the ones the Knitting Beyond the Hebrides group has done in the past. If you click on the heading 'Schema' you get a timetable with links to the various sections. Thanks, Inge!
