In the end I didn't use any of the sock yarns for Daybreak. I broke out some well matured Noro Kureyon (164) and combined it with some Norwegian Spelsau garn that I bought when we were on holiday in Norway a couple of years ago. This is spun from the wool of a traditional breed of sheep and it's not too soft but has a lot of character (as they say...). It's a little lighter in weight than the Kureyon, but it all worked out.
